The Vacation Ownership Association of SA (VOASA) encourages consumers to make use of its free complaints facilitation service when dealing with disputes involving a VOASA member.
VOASA was established in 1990 as a voluntary industry body to represent all sectors of the timeshare industry such as the traditional timeshare models that include fractional and flexi week ownership as well as the newer holiday clubs that can either be membership-based or points-based.
Through its Independent Timeshare Complaint Service (ITCS), VOASA has successfully resolved 81% of all complaints received to date. The ITCS aims to timeously resolve disputes between consumers and its members within the ambit of the industry Code of Conduct. If you are unsure that the company you are dealing with is a VOASA member, then please check our member listing at https://voasa.co.za/#members
How to lodge a complaint with the ITCS
Step 1: Submit your complaint online at www.voasa.co.za
Step 2: The ITCS will acknowledge receipt of your complaint, issue you with a reference number and outline the resolution process.
Step 3: The ITCS then forwards the complaint to the respective VOASA member and continues to facilitate the process.
Step 4: The ITCS will confirm with you (the consumer) and VOASA member that the complaint has been resolved.
Step 5: If no resolution is reached, you have the right to approach the Consumer Goods and Services Ombudsman.
