VOASA Awards: Celebrating Excellence in Timeshare

The VOASA Awards Ceremony marked a proud return to recognising excellence within South Africa’s timeshare community, celebrating achievements that set the standard for growth and innovation. Held at the prestigious Sandton Sun and Towers, the evening brought together members, industry pioneers, and honoured guests to acknowledge those who have made impactful contributions across various sectors of the industry.

Following insightful discussions at the earlier industry conference on future-proofing strategies, the awards highlighted the importance of adaptability and responsibility in securing a sustainable future for timeshare. Categories like Refurbishment celebrated projects that elevate the guest experience for today’s traveller, while the Environmental and Community Initiatives category honoured eco-friendly and local community upliftment efforts, showcasing a strong commitment to responsible tourism.

The Ambassador of the Year Award celebrated the dedication of timeshare employees who consistently go above and beyond to foster loyalty among owners and club members by effectively communicating the value of timeshare ownership. Nominations were evaluated across non-management, management, and team categories.

A highlight of the night was the Standout Member Award, which acknowledged members who actively support VOASA’s mission across various platforms, including legislative lobbying, industry marketing, research and industry insights, and the referral of new members. Eight engaged members were honoured for their significant contributions, reflecting the strength of the partnership between VOASA and its members in advancing industry interests.

In his closing address, VOASA Chairman John Lee paid tribute to over a hundred members honoured for their decades of loyalty, awarding them Gold and Silver membership status as a testament to the enduring commitment that propels the timeshare industry forward.

He then announced the launch of the VOASA Members’ Hall of Fame, a permanent recognition created to honour the member pioneers who laid the foundations of South Africa’s timeshare sector. This tribute underscores the resilience and growth their efforts inspired, establishing a lasting legacy for future leaders to build upon.

With the revival of these awards, VOASA proudly reaffirms its commitment to excellence and an engaged, forward-looking community. More than a celebration of achievement, the ceremony underscored the role of innovation and member participation in driving the growth of South Africa’s domestic tourism through timeshare.
